Our Story
Our mutual friend Margo connected us when she found out Ishan was moving to Nikki's neighborhood. We set our first date for February 15, 2022 at a local wine bar.
We hit it off and continued exploring new neighborhood restaurants to find our "go-to" spot. We tried to become regulars at the cosy Italian restaurant up the street but we always ended up at Bombay Street Food or Panda Gourmet. We quickly discovered that food was a common bond, from cooking together to finding Chinatowns wherever we travel. So far we rank London and Boston high on the list, though rural Maine has surprisingly good Lo Mein.
Since we met, there is definitely more Reggaeton and dancing in Ishan's life and more Phish and football (and all other sports) in Nikki's. We knew this could be something special when Ishan enjoyed salsa dancing with Nikki and she enjoyed her first Raven's game.
On September 10, 2023, Ishan asked Nikki to go for a walk in Rock Creek Park to check out her favorite spot. We stopped for breakfast sandwiches on the way, and Ishan stealthily brought champagne, a blanket, and most importantly an engagement ring. That gorgeous fall morning by the water changed our lives forever.
We can't wait to continue celebrating this new chapter with all of you in May!
